Story of Thanksgiving

I am sure everybody has their Thanksgiving dinner recipes out. All the Thanksgiving traditions and the Thanksgiving dinners, but do you know the real story behind the first Thanksgiving dinner?

In 1621, after a very difficult year, the fifty three surviving members of the original 102 that landed on Plymouth Rock gathered together for a three day Thanksgiving celebration. Of the fifty three Pilgrims that survived, only five were women.

They landed in Plymouth Rock on December 11, 1620. In a strange land in the middle of winter. This was not going to be easy.

In the first ten months they built seven dwellings, a meeting house, and three small storehouses for food. They had provisions with them when they arrived, but those went  quickly in the very harsh winter. Sickness and death found it’s way in among them, and forty six Pilgrims died that first year. The winter was so harsh and food and warmth were getting so hard to find, that their food ration was five kernels of corn a day.

Why did these people go through all of this? Taking their families and leaving England to start a new life in a land that they did not know?

Think about that for a moment. Put yourself in their shoes. Their devotion to God and the freedom to worship Him as they see it in the bible, drove them from the land they were born. A land where all their prosperity had to be left behind. Friends and those family members that did not go, were probably never going to be seen again. They were giving up everything. For what?

I think if I were there, I would have told them to stay. Stay in England! This is where your roots are! So what if the government tells you how to worship, and where to worship, it’s not worth going to somewhere you’ve never been. Who knows what fate awaits you over there. Even the journey by sea was long and dangerous.

Outside of a brief try at life in the Netherlands, it was agreed to go to the new land. They were not the first ones who had been there, but they were among the first colonies to stay and lay down roots in a land they would call home.

Then there was the problem of trying to set up new relationships with the Indians of that land. These Indians had seen white people come before, but now to have them stay……that was another story. The Indians were very cautious of their new neighbors.

After watching them struggle and many of them dying, the Indians made a treaty with the Pilgrims and showed them how to fish and plant food that would grow well in the soil of their new home. If it were not for the Indians, many believe all of the Pilgrims would have died that first year.

That brings us to the first Thanksgiving celebration. It was not what we do today, because the English always had a celebration that they did every year, but this time they brought in their Indian friends. The harvest had been good, because of what the Indians had taught them, and they and about sixty of their Indian friends were going to worship God and give thanks.

Remember, there were only fifty three Pilgrims left. They survived a long winter on rashining the last few corn stocks they had left. Some of their family and friends died. They were cold, and yet they were going to feast for the next three days with their new found friends, on the provisions that God had provided for them.

That is just amazing to me. I know that times are hard right now for a lot of us. The economy is down. Many have lost their jobs. But we live in the greatest country on the face of God’s green earth. We can worship were we want too. We can worship what we want too. We have it so good today, and all I ever hear is people complaining. Some people are such whiners and complainers, that I think if you gave them a million dollars, they would complain that the bills are to stiff. You can never make them happy.

After everything that they had been through, these fifty three people got down on their knees and gave thanks to God for all that He had provided.

Gratitude! The missing element in our society today. We live in a, ” You owe me,” society. Everybody grabbing, taking, and never giving a thought to say thank you.

I don’t know what your tradition is at Thanksgiving, but this year at your Thanksgiving celebration, give a thought to someone or something that you are grateful for.

The second one is spending huge amounts of money on marketing. That will only work for those who are way above you that are already established and are making a very good income from their experience and their group, and how can you duplicate that for your down line?

The third one, and the one that I think works the best for the other 85% of the people, is marketing through the internet. There are people right now that are out there, looking for a mortgage acceleration program, that can show them how to pay off their mortgage faster. My journey in MLM, (multi level marketing), began many years ago. I got involved with my first MLM business, Amway. Amway is one of the most successful MLM businesses in history. They have a great product line and have a history to prove it. But I had a hard time in it. I never achieved the success that I thought I would or that I was told I would.

I did what all the successful people in Amway told me to do. Than I discovered something. All these people who were successful, and telling me to follow what they were doing, were A-type personalities.  You know, the used car salesman type. They could sell ice to an Eskimo. They would chase you down, they wouldn’t take no for an answer, until you signed the dotted line. This was not me! Than I discovered something else.

About 15% of the population are A-type personalities. The other 85% …..that’s where I fit in, were just average.  But you know what……that’s a good thing.

I am still involved in an MLM business today, but this time I am doing things a little bit different. I have met some new successful business entrepreneurs. They are top earners in their MLM businesses. They are making six figure incomes every month. But the best part is…..they are not all A-type personalities. They are like me, and maybe even like you, and they are top earners.

They teamed up with me and have shown me some of their strategies. These strategies are nothing like what I was told to do.

Creative article writing doesn’t just mean putting down thoughts into words then typing and writing it. You have to capture the interest of your readers and get them to keep on reading. To send your message across you have to get the attention of the reader.Get them to see what you see and feel what you feel.

The main ingredient in writing a good article,  is a large dose of creativity. While creativity may come natural to many people, others can get into a block that can drive someone crazy. It can happen to anyone when they get writers block and just can’t seem to get their creative juices flowing.

Putting words into images in the readers mind is an art. A clear and crisp depiction requires a certain flair that only creativity can provide. Similes and metaphors help a lot, but the way an article gets entwined word for word, sentence by sentence then paragraph by paragraph into a whole article develops the essence of the article.

So just what do you have to do when nothing comes to mind? There is no surefire way to get the perfect ideas, but there are easy ways to get your creative juices flowing. No one can guarantee you of having the perfect mindset but many methods may aid you in achieving that state of mind. Here are five easy ways that I use.

1) Keeping a journal is a great way to keep your thoughts and ideas down on paper. Ideas can be triggered by anything you may hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar in finding great ideas. Write all of them into a journal and keep it with you for future reference. You may also write down anything that you have read or heard, someone’s ideas could be used to develop your own ideas. Remember that ideas and creativity can come from anywhere; it’s the development of the idea that makes it unique.

2) Relax and take time to sort things out. A jumbled mind cannot create any space for new ideas. Everyone must have a clear mind if one wishes to have their creativity in full speed. Get rid of all obstacles that can be a hindrance to your creativity. If you are bothered by something, you cannot force your mind to stay focused.

Learn to relax. Think about your experiences and interactions with others. Your experiences are what shape your mindset and your opinions which could be reflected in your writings. Try to discover yourself, find out what triggers your emotions. Discover what inspires you and what ticks you off. You can use these emotions to help you in expressing yourself and your ideas. So many people today never take the time to reflect on their inside.

3) Create a working place that can inspire your creativeness. Your working place can be quite a hindrance if it doesn’t make you feel happy or relaxed. Creativity comes from being in a good state of mind and a disorganized workplace that causes distractions won’t be a good place to fire up the creative fireplace.

Surround your working place with objects that makes you happy and relaxed. You may put up pictures, or scents, objects that inspire, or anything that can get your creativeness cranking. A clean and well organized workplace also rids of distractions and unwanted hindrances. With a good working place, you can work in peace and never notice the time pass by.

4) Set the mood. Setting the mood requires you to just go with the moment or to induce your self to feeling what makes your mind works best. Finding out what makes you tick could help you find ways to get your creative juices flowing. Set the pace and tempo for your mood and everything else will follow.  Take some time to smell the roses.

There are many ways to set the mood. A little music, a good movie, some fresh air, or what I often like to do…..people watch. I walk to the park and just take in all the surroundings.

5) Take a break and just do something out of the ordinary. Letting yourself go and have fun produces adrenaline that can take your imagination to another level. Take an adventure or go for a long walk. Whatever it is that is unusual from your daily routine can take the rut out of your schedule. In no time at all, your creativeness will make use of that experience and get your imagination to go on overdrive.

About three months ago I was down and depressed. I was working my MLM business to all my friends and family. We had meetings at numerous houses and did seminars. I talked to everyone. The top people in my business were telling me what they did and if I just kept at it, things would turn around.

Choosing the blogging software in which your blogs will run is extremely important. If you choose the wrong one you will be missing out on a great deal of useful features and it will be a nightmare to switch over to another once your blog is established. You basically have 3 options; Word Press, TypePad or Blogger.

Each platform offers two different options to use their software. You can host it on your own domain or you can get a free blog and they will host it. The quickest and easiest option is obviously to get a free blog that is hosted by them. However, if you want to start blogging the right way, I highly recommend that you host it on your own domain. Here are a few good reasons for that:

1. 1. You have complete control over your blogs. No one can suspend your account etc. It’s your blog, you’re just using their software!
2. 2. If you ever decide to sell your blogs, you’re out of luck if you’re not hosting it on your own domain … you don’t own it so you can’t sell it!
3. 3. Are people really going to take you serious if you’re using  free blogging that you’re not even hosting yourself? You may lose credibility, as many people may think you’re not serious enough about your own blogging. Not to mention the advertizing that they can put on your blogs that you have no control over.
4. 4. Free blogging platforms restrict you from accessing files like the .htaccess file, which is a very important file to control when your blog becomes popular!

If you’re going to make a serious effort at this, you should pay the eight to ten dollars each year for your own domain. It’s very important and if you don’t know how to do it there are people out there who can help you get everything set up.

All three platforms are very good, but one stands out WordPress . The reason WordPress is so incredibly popular and effective is because it allows you to easily install plugins. There are lots of plugins that will do just about anything you want and most of them are free.

I use WordPress on all my blogs. I think it is very easy to use, and I will be referring to WordPress in future posts.

When you set your blog up, use your own name, Brian Gosur, and a subtitle, Learning MLM Secrets, so that they know what your blog is about. You want to brand yourself and get people to know who you are.

This is just going to be a short report on my success with article marketing. I have been only doing this for about four weeks.

I have been doing some training in the article marketing arena. We have some of the best marketers on the planet available to us at Learning MLM Secrets.
