I would like to take this time to wish all of you a Happy New Years.
This is a very unique year because we are not only ushering in a new year but a new decade. A decade is ten years. Wow! Ten years! Where has the time gone?
We had the terrorist attack of 911. The Y2k of the year 2000. Remember that? We all were buying survival kits, and getting ready for the end of the world. I had seven new family members added in grand children. I have a total of nine. Because I am a big sports fan, I look at the Detroit Red Wings who added a Stanley Cup to their trophy room. The Tigers were better, but no World Series Champion yet, and the Lions. Well we are still waiting and waiting.
Business wise it has been good for me. I have a system called, “Learning MLM Secrets“. An attraction marketing system that brands me and generates traffic jams and long lines at my websites. It has been a great year, and I have met some awesome people. Great leaders and successful business people who have partnered with me.
The past ten years and the past year has been a bumpy road, but there have been some smooth times as well. There are good people out there and there are good things waiting to happen, but we have to take the initiative and get with the right people and the right strategies and persist to the end. DON’T QUIT! NEVER QUIT! Until you achieve your goals and your goals should be to drive your car to victory lane. You Can Do IT!!
Lets make this next decade the best. Let 2010 be your best. Don’t let fear rule over you. Set your goals and drive to the end. No matter what.

Gary and Siham Jasmund
There have been missionaries sent out by churches for thousands of years. There were missionaries that arrived in America way before the Pilgrims ever stepped foot on our soil.
The missionaries are always considered a very special people. They sell everything that they have. Leave their families and friends and go to a remote place that is far away.
Gary and Siham Jasmund are not any different. At least to us they aren’t. They are very dear friends of my wife and I, and they are missionaries to Ghana West Africa.
This process started years ago, when Gary and Siham would go on short missionary trips to Africa. They did various jobs and worked with different people, but what started to happen inside their hearts was a love for these people and the need that they had. Unaware to them, God started to perform heart surgery on Gary and Siham.
There was training and adjustments to the Ghana culture, and it has not been without it’s trials and bumps in the road. They sold all their belongings, business, and home and started walking on a path that God was clearing just for them.
They have been in Ghana West Africa for one year now and it has been a very difficult year, but God has clearly been with them. It has really been a year of them learning rather then them teaching anyone. Gary told me that a lot of people want to put them up on a platform that they don’t deserve to be on. ” We are just doing missionary work in Ghana West Africa, like all of you are doing missionary work right here where you live”, Gary said.
It has been one of the greatest blessings of my wife Lori, and my life, to know Gary and Siham Jasmund. They will probably will not like me saying all this about them, but I am going too.
God has given them both gifts that He wants now to use in Ghana West Africa. Gary has just such an easy and humble way that he presents himself, and the ability to talk to people. Siham has the ability to see inside a person’s heart and know if they are hurting or not.
They are back in the states for this Christmas holiday season and will be heading back to Africa in January. We are all very much going to miss them, but we are not very far. You see, they have a definite home in our hearts, and are always in our prayers. This is how God keeps us together and a part of the work that they are doing over in Africa, through our prayers and financial support.

The Christmas season is here again. My favorite time of year. The snow, the cold, the lights, the music, and……..the presents. Come on you know you like rushing down in the morning. The smell of the fresh coffee, the tree, and all those beautifully wrapped gifts under the tree. I always look and try to guess which one is mine. Of course I do this very indiscriminately. I can’t let on to people that I’m looking.
“It is more blessed to give then it is to receive.” We’ve all heard that before, and especially around Christmas time. It is so true. There is something that goes on deep in your heart when you give to someone else. Someone who has a special need that you can fill, and they don’t have the resources to ever pay you back. There is such a blessing, a warmness in your heart, that comes to you when we do that.
But what about receiving? Christmas giving and receiving? That’s another question. That is the hardest thing to do. Why? What is it that makes it so hard to reach out to a hand that says, I want to give to you, and you don’t owe me anything for it.? Why do we struggle when it comes to receiving? We hear things like, ” I have my pride”, ” I don’t take charity”.
Our economy has put a lot of people, who are good educated people, that are not on drugs or have a drinking, or gambling problem, out on the street. These people have never taken a dime from anyone and they are finding themselves in the soup kitchens, and sleeping in the homeless shelters. Receiving is hard.
There was a story about a lady who fell asleep while she was driving. The car spun off the road, crashed through the guardrail and hung onto the side of the cliff with one tire. Several motorists stopped and tied the rear bumper of the car to a tree so it wouldn’t go over the edge. Every little movement of the car, they could her the girl inside screaming. Finally the fire department came and pulled the car back onto the flat ground, but the one firemen said he could her the girl constantly telling them that she could do it herself. Now that might have been just the shock and trama of the whole scary ordeal that she was in, but isn’t that funny, that in that terrible state, all she could say is, “I can do it myself “. This women was thinking she could do it herself, and didn’t realize that all these people had to work together to save her life.
We always feel that we have to give something back or do something for every gift or good thing that comes our way. Why? What about Christmas charity? Christmas giving? Christmas help? Do you need Christmas help?
I am going to give you four reasons why I think it is so hard for us to do any receiving.
People have let us down in the past. (hard to trust anymore)
Ego or Pride. (this is why a man doesn’t ask for directions)
Emotional Insecurity (I ride the wave of giving to forget my own insecurity)
Past Incident (we feel unworthy to receive)
Can you imagine getting a Rolex watch for Christmas and reaching into your wallet and asking the person, “how much did you pay for that?’ “You shouldn’t have”. Then you reach into your wallet and say, “here, let me give you something. I know I can’t pay for it all, but let me give you something.” That would totally offend the giver, and be very rude and embarrassing.
These same things prevent us from receiving the greatest gift of all time. The gift of God’s forgivness and a new life.
You see having faith in God is not about doing, it’s about receiving. The difference between Christianity and any other religion is this. In religion, I work a list of all kinds of different things to do for God. He receives those works and I get all the credit. In Christianity, God does the work, He gives to me, I receive, and He gets all the credit. This is the truth about Christmas.
It’s hard for me to receive when I was raised to always believe that I don’t need anybody. I can stand on my own two feet and get the job done all by myself. God should be happy He has me on His team.
But we can’t do it on our own, just like that women who couldn’t keep her car from going over the side of that cliff and plunging to her death, she could not save herself. Sin and a stubborn will have kept me from living the kind of life that I really want to live. The kind of life that God wants me to live, no matter how hard I tried.
What I could not do, God did. That’s what we celebrate at Christmas in Christianity. Receiving the free gift that God paid for on that cross so many years ago. We celebrate the entrance of God into our world at Christmas. He came for one reason. To pay the penalty for your sin and mine. The penalty for sin is death. (Romans 6:23) The gift of God is free. (Ephesians 2:8-9), (Titus 3:4-5)
Now the way is open. I can come to God, receive His gift, and with Him, start to learn to live my life the way He intended it to be. Jesus said, ” I have come that they might have life and have it to the full.”
Now my friend all the obstacles have been removed. There is nothing standing in your way, except a stubborn, disobedient heart, and even that He will begin to heal once He comes into your life. Just ask Him. That’s why He came. Learn to receive. Reach out and take His hand. He has a gift for you.
Revelation 3:20; ” Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him and he with Me.”
What do Ford Motor Company, Hershey Chocolate, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Apple Computer have in common? They all started out as home based businesses. Over half of all businesses in the US today are based out of an owners home. Starting a top home based business has many challenges, and many rewards. Home based businesses and franchises are becoming more common today, but beware. Some, ” work from home “, opportunities can be schemes to get your money. You need to do your homework first. Check with your Better Business Bureau to see if a company is legit, and what kind of track record they have. Don’t always trust a Google search. You can always get unreliable information from people who post on Google. Look at your source of information. Can I trust it? Who are they? Good, honest companies won’t mind you nosing around for information on them or their products. In fact they will encourage you to do that. Check us out. We don’t have anything to hide. If I wanted to look for a new doctor, I don’t think that I would trust a Google search to find a physician that I would want to place my families medical needs too. I would go to people who have used, or can recommend a reliable doctor that they have some knowledge of. Would you want to be going into surgery with a doctor that you found on Google? The same is true of a home based business. Find some people who know about the company and have used it’s product. When someone has used, or is using the product, that is the best resource you can find. The Better Business Bureau has been a reputable source of information for businesses for many years. They keep records of any complaints, and if those complaints were addressed and closed, and how long it took them to settle any issue a client may have had using their product. What kind of interaction does a company have with it’s agents after they are operating and promoting their home based business? Does the company say, ” thanks for jumping on board. Your on your own now.” A good company will have checks and balances to help you get started on the right foot, and a good base for training and help with any problems that you may have. After all, you are representing them. Many companies are choosing to franchise out into home based businesses, because it gives them a lower overhead. It’s cheaper for them and it allows them to give a little bit bigger piece of the pie to you.
Turn your home into your business
It helps you because you can set up your hours of work. For the mother who has children, she sends them off to school, then goes back to her home to work. She can make appointments with clients that will benefit her needs and work around her schedule, and also the clients needs as well. For the young hard working single person, they can go at it all day and all night if they want. As much as you put in, will be as much as you take out. Want a little extra cash each month as a part time job, or work your heart out and build an empire that will yield a very handsome paycheck each month? It’s really up to you. A home based business gives you all these opportunities. With the world economy the way it is, I think home based business will comprise a very large portion of how we do business in the future. We are there now. I urge you. If you are laid off. If you are out of work or need some extra income each month. Look into a home based business. Look at what your needs are. Check out and study what kind of businesses are out there. Make some calls and talk to people who will help you and guide you into something that can be very beneficial for you and your families needs.

When you bring it down to its basic ingredient regarding the lack of (or inconsistency of) achievement – it’s the fear of rejection! It doesn’t matter what dream you want to pursue or what you want to achieve in your life or career, if you can’t get over the fear of, “NO”, the chances are slim that you’ll gain the success you’re after. After all, fear is a learned process.
When you create a foundation built on the permanent elimination of the fear of “NO”, as well as, the internalization of rejection, everything else will automatically fall in place! Your Perception Changes Everything!
Our interpretation of life experiences is what creates the baggage that weighs us down. From our childhood to today our interpretation of events is what shapes our perceptions. Often times, (especially when we were very young), when someone was rude to us we sometimes interpreted it as if we did something wrong to cause this rudeness! Now that we’re older, because of our interpretations from events that happened to us in the past, when we we’re much younger, we become fearful when we think we’re going to have to put ourselves in a similar situation. We find ways to avoid the situation altogether! The reality is, how we react to rejection and the word “NO” today, started in our childhood from how we interpreted rejection then.
As an adult we still carry those “scars!” and those “scars” rear their ugly head every time we place ourselves in a situation where there is a potential for rejection! So, we avoid having to suffer this “pain” by finding excuses why we “can’t” …oh I can’t, I have a dental appointment that day …oh I can’t, I’ve got to take my cat to the vet that day …I’m sure they wouldn’t be interested! …I don’t want to seem “pushy” I’ll wait until I think they’re ready! etc. etc. Sound familiar?
So, what does one do to change one’s perception so that rejection and the word “NO” has no more power over one’s life and career? How do you handle rejection? How do we overcome rejection? Start with this…
An Exercise to Exorcise!
For years I’ve asked entrepreneurs to do an exercise that, to a person, has always had a profound effect on them. Try it on yourself and see if it doesn’t do the same for you. Find a quite place where there will be no distractions for a while. On a piece of paper write at the top of the page the following question, “What am I afraid of?” Then, list your fears both big and small, arrange them in order of importance, examine each one closely, and when you do; ask yourself, “Why do I fear this? Why does this particular thing cause me so much anxiety?”
When you can ‘step back’ and objectively define, as well as, analyze your fears you can conquer those fears! The more you understand why you fear what you fear, the less that fear will have any more control over you. There is just something about seeing it in black and white right in front of you.
Most of us have been raised to think that we will always be strapped with a mortgage. After all, that is the American dream, isn’t it? To have a home that you can call your own. Raise a family in your own home, on the corner, with the white picket fence. Dog running in the yard. Sounds beautiful doesn’t it? Close your eyes, and you can just picture that scene on a warm summers day. But in reality, you don’t own your home until you pay it off. Until then, the bank owns your home.
Unfortunately that is not the case in our society today. I don’t know if you have noticed but people are losing their homes at a very rapid rate. 2.3 million homes received foreclosure filings in 2008. That’s up a whopping 81% from 2007. More children are moving back with their parents. Grand parents are staying at home, so they can help raise their grand kids. It is not a very pleasant scene.

What is happening to the American dream? Are we ever going to see that dream fulfilled? Can you ever own your home free and clear?Remember, you don’t own your home until it is paid off. Until then, the bank owns your home, and you pay them interest, and lots of it.
On a 200,000 dollar mortgage at a 6% interest rate, for thirty years, you will end up paying the bank more than two and a half times what that home is worth. That’s why it will take you thirty years to pay your mortgage off. The loan is set up, so that all the interest is paid up front, where the bank can take their money out first before you ever really start paying on the principal. As a matter of fact, on this particular loan, they won’t even get to the half way mark on their amortization schedule, until year twenty one. Think about this now. Twenty one years of your life, paying the bank more then 300,000 dollars, of your hard earned money, and it has taken you twenty one years to get to the halfway mark on your thirty year mortgage. You will still owe them 100,000 dollars. The original mortgage loan was for 200,000 dollars. Twenty one years of your life, and more then 300,000 dollars of your money, before you get to the halfway point on your mortgage. How does that make you feel? Cheated? Used? I can see those banks making some money, but twenty one years, and I’m still looking at a balance of just under 100,000 dollars, that you still owe the bank.
And think, they were the ones who got bailout money from the government! You and me should have got the bailout money. But don’t get me started on this one. That is a whole another story.

I know what you could do! Refinance, and start the whole process all over again. Say you could get out about 50,000 dollars in equity from your home. What could you do with that money?
But wait a minute! The bank is saying that your home isn’t worth what it was when you purchased it. But maybe you could get some money, and you could start that whole process all over again from ground zero. Start paying the bank all that interest, again! They will love you for it. They will be more than willing to write you up to another long thirty year mortgage. Paying them all that interest again. They just got all that money from the government bailout plan to help them do that.
Take a look at your own amortization schedule. You got one when you signed for that mortgage. Most people don’t know what it is and probably never even looked at it. That’s been my experience. Look at how much money, of your monthly payment, is going to interest.
Albert Einstein said, ” Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. Those who understand it, earn it. Those who don’t, pay it.” The banks certainly understand it, and they earn lots of it, every day.
Let interest work for you, not the bank
Money never stops working. It doesn’t take a vacation. It works twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, and banks know this and use your money to their advantage all the time. Banks use what they call sweep accounts. They sweep all of the money in your account and mine, at the close of the day. Invest our money, maybe for only ten to twelve hours, and then put it back for the start of the next business day. They make lots of money by using your money that way. Let me ask you a question? Have they ever paid you a dime in interest for using your money? Yes they have. You get 2% on a saving account don’t you? You may even get something back on your checking account also. Come on now. Don’t get greedy. They do pay you, but what they pay you is a drop in the bucket for what they make off your money and mine. That’s what their in the business for anyway. To make money. And they know how to put your money to work for them.
Interest is apart of our every day life. We can either have it working for you or against you.
