Writing Style – Write The Way You Talk

When I started in network marketing, I ran my warm market far far away from me. When my family and friends saw me coming, they ran in the other direction. Because I was never a pushy used car salesman type, needless to say, I never had many sales or recruits.

Then I discovered the Internet.I met a person who introduced me to Internet marketing. Marketing and generating leads by means of this fabulous new tool called the Internet, was great. I loved the Internet anyway, so why not use this format for my business purposes.

I learned some new marketing techniques and strategies using the Internet. I was generating leads and meeting some awesome people in the network marketing community. I really loved what I was doing.

One technique that I tried and fell in love with was article marketing. I loved to write, and now I could get a blog and start writing my articles for my business and my passions.

My first writing came on a very popular platform called hubpages. Many of you have probably heard of it or are writing on your own hubpages, but I didn’t know what to write about. My friend told me to write about things I was very passionate about. So I started to write. That was almost two years ago and one of my very first articles is still getting hits today.

I want to give you five quick simple steps that will help you make your writing skills about you, your personality, and attract more people to you..

1. Write The Way You Talk

Good writing is like a conversation between the writer and the reader. So when you’re writing, think about how you would explain what your saying to a close friend who is sitting right across from you. Use the same words, the same stories, that you would normally use to explain your points.

2. Read Out Loud To Yourself

You should be proof reading your articles before you publish them, and when you do, read them out loud to yourself, as if you were reading them to a congregation. As you read you will stumble over the parts that you need to fix. They will sound awkward and won’t have that nice flow. Do this until your article sounds good and flows smoothly.

3. Ask Someone To Read It For You

This is where my wife comes in. I ask her to read my articles before I get ready to publish them. She is my best critic. If she see something that doesn’t sound right, I better take a look at it. This should be someone that you know will give your writing an honest scrutiny.

4. Use The Same Words You Talk With Every Day

When I first started to write and blog, I tried to use big long sophisticated words. I tried to be someone I wasn’t. Just be yourself. Your true personality will come out when you start writing this way, and people will just be attracted to you because of who you really are. Remember, not everyone will like who you are, and that’s ok too.

5. Just Start Writing

Don’t worry about the grammar, writing styles, and punctuation, just start writing. Get your main thoughts and ideas down, and don’t worry about anything else. Once your done, than you can go back and edit your spelling and grammar errors. Remember, you and a close friend will be proof reading it before it goes out.

Have fun writing and expressing your thoughts, ideas and value to enhance your readers and followers lives. Remember to always be yourself, because people will always be attracted to the real you, and not to someone you are pretending to be.

This is just going to be a short report on my success with article marketing. I have been only doing this for about four weeks.

Are You A Sponge Bob Square Pants When It Comes To Writing Articles?

Wisdom can be found in the most unexpected places. Today, wisdom bubbled up from a pineapple under the sea. I suddenly realized that everything you’d want to know about writing articles for your website can be taught by Sponge Bob Square Pants and his friends.

When you undertake article marketing for your newsletter, blog, or website, which character are you most like?

Squidward: Squidward is B-O-R-I-N-G. When writing articles, are you a Squidward? Do you just get the words down on paper or are you finding a fun twist to entertain your audience and keep them coming back for more? Take time to make your articles stand out from the thousands of other dull articles out there by including personal stories or just having fun while writing. For instance, this article could be entitled “How to Write a Good Article”, but would it stand out from the hundreds of other articles about article writing? Probably not.

Mr. Krabs: This crustacean is focused on one thing and one thing only, making more and more and more money. Only a cartoon could actually have dollar signs drawn in his eyes. He thinks of no one, only how he can benefit. Are your articles focused on you or on the reader? Are you providing information or do you have blinders on, thinking only about how you can make money from the article you are writing? If your article reads like an ad or is self-serving or full of yourself, you might write like Mr. Krabs.

Patrick: SpongeBob’s best friend, the starfish, has a good heart, but isn’t the brightest creature in the sea. Do your articles make you sound like an expert? Are you providing valuable content or just pushing out sloppy articles as fast as you can? Always double check for typos and grammatical errors. If you’re challenged by spelling and grammar, ( like I am), click the little tabs at the top for spelling before you submit your article. Or slow down, set your article aside for a day and then reread it before you click the “submit” button.

Plankton: The smallest creature in the sea is also the sneakiest. He’ll do anything and hurt anyone to steal someone else’s work (the Krabby Pattie secret formula). Write your own material. Don’t be Plankton. Don’t copy and paste someone else’s work, edit it, and try to pass it off as your own. You will be caught, and it just isn’t worth it. Take the same amount of effort and work on your own thoughts and ideas. Plankton never gets away with his schemes, either. He’s on Plan “Z” and is still pathetically failing at his attempts to steal the secret formula.

SpongeBob: This little guy always tries to do the right thing, and is a hard worker. He may not always end up getting the results he hoped for, but he bounces back and tackles his work with a renewed vigor. SpongeBob works very hard, he’s a good friend, he always thinks of others, and tries to have fun no matter what he is faced with. Hardworking, friendly SpongeBob is the guy to be when writing articles.

Although this is a silly lesson in article writing, I hope you’ll remember the important messages our underwater friends have taught us.

1. Be entertaining. Not boring.

2. Write articles to help others, not with dollar signs in your eyes.

3. Proofread your articles carefully, and provide valuable information.

4. Write your own material. Don’t copy others.

5. Be a SpongeBob! Hard work and persistence pay off.
