Advice and Strategies That Will Take You Out of This World

Good Business is Good Relationships

Since the dawn of time sales people have always been looked down on. You know, the used car salesman type. They would chase you around the lot, promising you everything, and coming through with nothing. People always felt that if you purchased your new vehicle from anyone, other then a new car showroom floor sales person, you were getting ripped off.

Direct sales have changed. Or I should say are slowly changing over time. Actually this has been around for a few years, but not to many people use it. It’s called attraction marketing.

People buy from people that they know and trust. They don’t buy from companies. I know we are getting very cold in the way we try to do business today. We talk to computers, send emails, but there is no human face attached to the person on the other end of the phone or computer. That is what still makes direct sales what it has always been. Direct face to face and eye to eye contact.

Now I am not diminishing internet marketing. I am an internet marketer. My marketing system is a lead generation, and residual income producer for me. If you don’t have an internet presence, you will soon be left behind. But we still have to get on the phone and talk to people. That’s where the sale is closed. The human element still has to exist and be there for that closing to take place.

A man moved into the new house that he and his wife had just purchased. They were very excited. All the lawns and landscaping of all the homes in the neighborhood, were beautiful. He got right to work on his.

After months of fertilizing and and watering, his lawn still had weeds and looked terrible. He finally got the nerve up to ask his neighbor for some pointers on how he could get his lawn to look like his. The man was more than happy to help out with all his landscaping needs.

Soon the man’s new yard started to take on a brand new look. Everything was looking fantastic. He finally asked his new neighbor how he knew so much about landscaping. He answered, ” I own my own landscaping business”. He hired the neighbor on the spot for all his landscaping needs.

This story explains what attraction marketing is. You lead by giving out value, not by pitching some company or product. The minute you do that, people will perceive you as a leader and someone who knows what they are doing. You are separating yourself from the thousands of peddlers out their who are selling a company and chasing people around shoving their product down their throats.

The most important thing you are doing, is you are building relationships. Remember, people buy from people, not companies. Once the man in our story found out that his neighbor knew something about landscaping, and he had built a relationship with him, he was ready to buy what ever he was selling. Good business is good relationships.

Law of Attraction

I am not what I think I am. I am not what you think I am. I am what I think, you think I am.

That may sound confusing at first but say it to yourself slowly several times. Think about it and it will start to sink in.

This is the dilemma that so many people live with every day of their lives. If they park themselves in this mindset for very long, it will become a weight and a way of life that will be very hard to escape from. Their image and how they believe others view them, will be the catalyst that will rule and direct their life forever. Unless something comes in and shatters that belief system.

There is the law of gravity and just as powerful……..the law of attraction.

Their are three groups of people in the world. There are leaders, up and coming leaders, and followers. The people that I just described are the followers. Sometimes they think they are the leaders, but they are only following a self deceived image that they will never attain too…. Because it’s not real.

What determines what group you are in is not your financial status. It’s not where you are on the social scale. It’s determined by your state of mind. This is not given to you by others or bestowed on you by your piers. It comes from within you. People just reflect what you believe about yourself. Followers just ask permission, from the group they are in, where their niche is, by the view they have of themselves. You are what you think.

The second group is an up and coming leader. This is the person who is viewing themselves as a leader, but aren’t quite there yet. I said yet, because they will struggle and stumble at times, but they are moving in the right direction. It is important that your actions follow your beliefs. People can sniff out a phony, and if you are, “faking it until you make it”, you will fail. Be true to yourself. People will respect that.

A great example of this is when a person gets a promoted into a management position. What usually happens is they are challenged by their piers and animosity and sometimes resentment sets in. The transition is not an easy one. How they weather this storm will determine what kind of attraction power they will have over others.

The final group is the real leader. They have gone through the steps and the challenges of their belief in themselves.  Belief always comes from results. They have trained and gained the confidence and the knowledge to lead. They have given the dedication, time, and perseverance that has brought out the action, behaviors, and results that they were attaining too. They have stepped out of their comfort zones and worked through their fears to reach their goals.

This is the pinnacle of the law of attraction. Pushing those comfort lines, fears, and criticisms out of the way. Building and reinforcing the belief system that you have in yourself. That you can be all that you can be.

This is what attracts people. This is who they will follow. People who are confident in themselves. People who know what they want and are willing to focus their energies on achieving their goals. Strength of character, confidence, knowledge, and the value that comes from it, will make you a power draw of the law of attraction.

Follower. Up and coming leader. Genuine leader. Which one are you?

Attraction Marketing Rule #3

You Must Become a Student of Your Craft:

“Before you can increase your profits you must increase your value.” Jim Rohn said that.

I love sports. I played sports when I was much younger. If you wanted to be the best at what you were doing, you had to be a master at your position. I played hockey, and there is a lot more involved to the game then just skating and hitting people. Someone said that sports is 90% mental and 10% physical. I do believe that is true. You have to be much more then physical to compete in any sport today.

Michael Jordan used to shoot six to 800 shots everyday. Why do you think he was so good at making those clutch shots at the buzzer. He did those shots everyday when he practiced. What kid didn’t go over and over in his mind dreaming of shooting the winning shot at the final buzzer. When you play that scenario out in your mind everyday, you are going to have that opportunity some day in your life. You want it so bad you can taste it. So you work at it all the time.

The same should be true of your network marketing business. Treat your business like your life depended on it and you will be successful. Treat it like a business and take it seriously and it will reward you. Treat it like a part time hobby, and that is all it will pay you.

You will become like the top five people that you hang around with. There is the story of three people walking down the street. One was dressed up as a clown.  A little boy, walking with his mother, saw the three people. He said to his mother, ” Look Mom at the clowns”. You see the little boy just blended the other two people that were not dressed as clowns as being  clowns, simply because of the clown they were walking with. You will blend into the people who you hang around wit. You may even start dressing like they do, or thinking like they do. It’s a very slow but subtle change.

Don’t walk with clowns. Walk with the successful people. People that are where you want to be.  People that are doing the right things and making the right moves. Emulate those people and do what they do and you will be successful in network marketing.

Are the people that you are surrounding yourself with holding the same qualities and character that you want to emulate in your business? If you want to become a better prospector, a better marketer, than you want to hang with the Mike Dillards, Jeffery Combs, and Cedrick Harris’s of the world. You should be listening to their Cd’s, reading their books. Be a sponge and take in everything that these leaders in the network marketing world have to offer. Copy them and watch your business grow.

If you had to have brain surgery, would you feel comfortable going into the operating room and glancing over at the surgeon reading the introductory manuel for brain surgery? Probably not.

So many people get into network marketing and are not willing to take the time to learn their trade and learn if from the guys who are doing it and doing it well. Be the best you can be. Become a student of your craft. Take those 800 shots everyday at practice. You will become so proficient at what you do, it will be like breathing. You won’t even have to think about it. Soon your hard work will payoff. You will find yourself at the top looking down.

Attraction Marketing Rule #2

You Must Brand You Incorporated;

People buy from people, not from websites. When you learn this rule, your business will change overnight. This is probably the most important one of  them all. When you brand yourself, you are going to stand out from the ocean of  peddlers. These peddlers are all selling their companies and their companies products. They all have company replicated websites that promote and brand their companies, not themselves. Why do you think they call them replicated websites? They are repeated or duplicated over and over again to thousands of distributors who are branding the company, not themselves.

Why are 95% of all people who are inside of  network marketing  failing? They are all being stamped out from the same mold. Their companies are just cloning thousands of the same thing. They all look the same and they are all marketing their company and it’s products.

What do you see when you go to one of these replicated company websites? Do you see a video of you. I highly doubt it. What if you Google your company name? What do you think you will find?  What you will probably find are the top leaders of your company who understand this rule of attraction marketing. I guarantee…..you won’t find you.

This is done every day from some of the biggest and largest companies. When Coke, Pepsi, and Nike sign celebrities like Michael Jordan, Labron James, and Tiger Woods to endorse their products they are using this very important rule of attraction marketing. They are branding their products to these very popular athletes and people will buy them.

You must do the very same thing. You must market you. You must brand yourself and overwhelm people with value. Stand out from all the other fish in the sea and people will be attracted to you.

Another very important reason to apply this rule to your business is ownership. While you are in your company, you own nothing. They own it all. If they decide to let you go, they keep all your down-line. They don’t give you a severance check. All your hard work belongs to them.

As you are marketing you and branding a name for yourself you are building a list of your very own loyal followers through an auto-responder like Aweber or  GetResponse. This list  is full of people that are following  you,  not a company. You are the business. You are the brand. If you and your company should ever part for any reason,  you will own your list and your name.

Because the one thing in this world that we all truly own, and  no one can ever take away from us is our name. Own yours today and start to brand and market yourself. Remember……you are the business.

Attraction Marketing Rule #1

Know Your Target Market:

When I first got into the network marketing industry, I was at a big meeting in a hotel auditorium. The people leading that meeting got up and drew all their X’s and Os’s on the board. Almost reminded me of a football playbook. Then they talked about the product and how easy it was to go out and prospect this to others. They said that people will be falling over themselves to get to you. Does any of this sound familiar?

Next they said to get started you must make a list of at least one hundred people that you know. Most people don’t know one hundred people. I know that I didn’t know one hundred people. So what do you do? You start writing in all your family and friends. Uncle Mike, Auntie M, and on and on it goes.

You leave that meeting and everyone is pumped up. You can’t wait to get home and have everyone over to your house and have a meeting of your own. Let me ask you a question. How many people showed up to your meeting? How many are still your friends or will say that you are family? I know the feeling. I was there too. This is what you were told to do, and if you wanted to achieve success, you did what your leaders told you to do. After all, they were doing it…right?

Let me tell you, there is a better way. You must know your target market. I love hockey. If I wanted to start a hockey team I would go out and look for hockey players. People that understand and play the game of hockey. I would not go and talk to Uncle Mike or Auntie M. They don’t even know what hockey is.

There is a 95% failure rate in the MLM industry. Why? They are talking to all the wrong people. You must focus your attention on other network marketers. They know the business and have proven that they are interested and willing to try anything that will help them succeed. You don’t have to explain to them how an MLM business works. They already know. This is your target market.

Who would you rather talk to. Uncle Mike who only has a job mentality, or Mary Smith, who is already in the MLM industry but just hasn’t hit her stride yet? Instead of having meetings at your house, or going to the malls and passing out fliers, zero all your energies toward the people who are ready to hear what you have to say. Network marketers are where your efforts should be pointing too.

Once you know your target market, now you can be very specific as to what their needs are and offer them a solution. The solution is coming in rule #2 of attraction marketing.

There are only three types of people in the world. Those that make things happen. Those that watch things happen, and those that wonder, “what just happened?” Which one are you?

Don’t Chase People Away, Attract Them Too You.

When you walk into a Sears store, and you want to look at the stoves, what happens? One, maybe two sales people walk your way, and ask if they can help you. If you are anything like me, the minute I walk into the store, I have my eyes out looking for the sales people, and when I see them coming I am turning the corner and going down the next aisle. They follow you anyway. You can run, but you can’t hide from them.

Don’t chase people away, attract them to you.

Sales people are not very well liked. Especially the ones that follow you and push you around the store.
But what if the sales person comes up to you and just says “Hi, is there any where I can direct you too?” You tell him you are looking for stoves, and he takes you to them, and tells you, ” if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I will be right over there if you need me.” Then he leaves you alone to freely look at what ever you want to look at. You could even leave the store, and he will say, ” good night folks, here is my card, you have a great evening.” No pressure, no push.
If you ever go back to that store, who are you going to look up? I know who I would be looking for.
I know that flies against everything we have ever been taught or trained to do, and some people might need a little guidance when shopping, but if you treat someone with respect and giving them the answers to their questions, you will close eighty percent of your sales. It’s called attraction marketing.

People are always more likely to talk to someone who has the answers and gives them the information that they want and need to make a right decision for them. They walk away happy, you have a sale, and most important, you have now a trusted shopper, who will not only look for you the next time they go into that store, but will spread the good news to all their family and friends, about how well you treated them and the great deal they got from you. This one sale could possibly generate ten more. Let them tell family and friends and you won’t have too.

Most MLM businesses are founded on the premise to use your warm market first. Call all your family and friends and get them to come to this meeting. The person stands up and talks and pressures them, till all they are looking at is their watch and how fast can I get to the back door.

Learning MLM secrets that will lead you to a successful Multi Level Business is not only profitable, but it is fun, because you are building relationships, which will build you a residual income for a long time to come. Don’t make the same mistakes so many MLM businesses make. That is why 97% don’t survive. Get out of the box, and be one of the 3%.
