Your First Step In Network Marketing

What if you were ready to go into the operating room for brain surgery, and you saw the brain surgeon reading the instruction manual before he operated on you.  Probably you would jump off the table, and who would blame you? A brain surgeon goes through years of training and years of internship before he can ever take a scalpel in his hand.

The same goes for anyone and your first step in network marketing. You just can’t read a book, listen to a CD and expect to be a seasoned marketer. You need to learn. Like a newborn baby needs to crawl before he can walk and he needs to walk before he can run. There is a training and a learning period that all successful marketers must go through. Taking a short cut, could short circuit your road to success.

I see so many people that come into network marketing, and think that they can simply go to one training or read a book and they have it all. They take off like a rocket and come down just as fast. These are the ones that will go one or two months and say, ” this isn’t working. I quit!” Which is good because you don’t want these kind of people in your organization anyway.

You need to find successful marketers that are where you want to be. You need a mentor and someone that you can be accountable too. Follow them. Learn from them. Do what they do. Duplicate their system. They have been down the road you are traveling. They can show you where all the holes are and lead you to the things that work. There are a lot of companies and systems that just sign you up and say good luck. Find successful people that will work with you and learn.

You need to define a time line of two to five years. You wouldn’t start a brick and mortar business by reading a book or listening to a cd and expect to have success? You would study and research and invest in your training to be the best you could be. Don’t think your network marketing business is any different.

Learn, study, and research. Hook up with the successful leaders. Emulate and duplicate them. This is your business. Treat it like a business and it will pay you like a business. Treat it like a hobby, it will pay you like a hobby.

Do you want to be successful? Get out of the box. 95% of all people are in the box. Don’t listen to all those people who are yelling at you from inside the box. Be one of the 5%.

Successful people are not like 95% of the worlds population. They are different. They go that extra. They take that calculated risk. They learn and work to be the best. They are far from being average.

Yes, read those books. Listen to the Cd’s. Go to the seminars. Absorb everything like a sponge. What you learn will be more than the other 95% of those other marketers………who are still in the box.

Make Money at Home

Ask any entrepreneur this question; “What are you doing all this for?” You most likely will get this answer. “To make money at home!” That is the answer that I always hear and that was always the answer that I gave. I want to make money and lots of it from my home office. I want to pay all my bills off, buy a new car, get that boat I always wanted, take that trip to Europe, buy my dream home, etc…etc…etc.

Than I thought I would be more self giving and sound very self righteous. I really want to help people, and I do! But how many times do you hear that now. I hear people say that all the time, when I know that they really want to make MONEY! LOTS OF MONEY!! Who are they fooling.

Imagine making money at home while you sleep. Imagine waking up richer than when you went to bed the night before. Imagine receiving streams of money from people all over the world. Imagine a business that operates on auto pilot, whether you show up or not. Imagine low overhead and high profits. Imagine running your business from different world wide locations. A cell phone on a beach in Hawaii or from your lap top in a restaurant in France. If you can imagine these things, you can achieve them using the vehicle of… the internet.

For a long time I used the methods of cold calling, chasing all my family and friends, having meetings at my house and at their house, setting up tables at job fairs and passing out brochures. I did everything that my up-line told me to do and all I got was an empty wallet and all my family and friends running from me every time they saw me. “What are you doing this for?”, I asked myself.

If you are in an MLM business, than you know what I am talking about. You have done the same thing. Oh yea, you get some people that will hoop on board, but the minute that they don’t see any money coming in and all the same things that you go through, they’re gone. Do you blame them?

Then I discovered the internet. Well, I don’t mean that I discovered the internet. Al Gore did that. (sorry. I couldn’t resist) It’s been there all the time. People are using it more and more for shopping, and paying their bills. Many companies, because of the tough economic times, are closing their brick and motor buildings and are just doing business from the internet. Circuit City is one example of this. Everyone thought they went out of business. They did not.  The only way you can shop at Circuit City now is on the internet.

How many adds have you seen popping up all over the place saying, “Bring your gold here and we will give you top dollar for it.” Gold and silver has become a very popular commodity recently. You can go online and visit just about every dealer of gold and silver there is. Shop around and get the best deal…on the internet.

I realized that I wasn’t marketing at all. I was chasing people into the corner, making them listen to me. Why don’t you sign on the dotted line. I have the best product. It’s a no brainier. (if I hear that again, I think I will scream).

When I finally realized that I had to market in a totally different way. My business changed over night. The old days of cold calling, chasing people, are over. Face it. When this is all over, we won’t be pulling a Uhaul behind us, but we will be taking the relationships that we have built down here on this earth with us. People do matter. Happy New Years

I would like to take this time to wish all of you a Happy New Years.

This is a very unique year because we are not only ushering in a new year but a new decade. A decade is ten years. Wow! Ten years! Where has the time gone?

We had the terrorist attack of 911. The Y2k of the year 2000. Remember that? We all were buying survival kits, and getting ready for the end of the world. I had seven new family members added in grand children. I have a total of nine. Because I am a big sports fan, I look at the Detroit Red Wings who added a Stanley Cup to their trophy room. The Tigers were better, but no World Series Champion yet, and the Lions. Well we are still waiting and waiting.

Business wise it has been good for me. I have a system called, “Learning MLM Secrets“. An attraction marketing system that brands me and generates traffic jams and long lines at my websites. It has been a great year, and I have met some awesome people. Great leaders and successful business people who have partnered with me.

The past ten years and the past year has been a bumpy road, but there have been some smooth times as well. There are good people out there and there are good things waiting to happen, but we have to take the initiative and get with the right people and the right strategies and persist to the end. DON’T QUIT! NEVER QUIT! Until you achieve your goals and your goals should be to drive your car to victory lane. You Can Do IT!!

Lets make this next decade the best. Let 2010 be your best. Don’t let fear rule over you. Set your goals and drive to the end. No matter what.

Quitters never win and winners never quit. You are not a quitter, you are a winner.
