Network Marketers Need Tools

I have a friend who is a carpenter and my son is an electrician. In order for them to do their jobs properly, and make sure everything is in the right place, working the way it’s supposed too, they need the right tools. They have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on tools. They have to maintain those tools also, which ads another expense to their business.

Doctors also need the right tools to perform the delicate surgeries that they do. It costs them in the millions of dollars to operate or lease the complex things they need to perform they’re procedures on us. Would you want your doctor operating on you with old tools that were outdated or haven’t been calibrated in a long time?

Network Marketers Need Tools

1. Computer 

It’s no different when it comes to online marketing. Network Marketers need tools too. You need a computer, and you need a good one. Working on that ten year old computer, is not going to cut it. Technology changes so fast, you almost need to buy a new computer every five years or so. Expect to pay about $400-$600 dollars for a good computer.

2. Auto-Responder

Next, you will need a good auto-responder. I don’t care what business you’re in, you need to build a list of followers or leads, and you need to keep in touch with them. You need to constantly be feeding them the information and value that they’re looking for to help them with they’re businesses. This will generally cost you about $20 dollars a month.

3. Domain Name

You have to have a domain name to brand you. You are the business and you are the company. Get a domain name, preferably with your name dot com. A domain name is like owning a piece of the internet. It belongs to you and no one else. It’s like owning a piece of real estate that you control and build on.  Domain names run anywhere from $10 to $15 dollars a year. There are very inexpensive.

4. Hosting Account

You must have a hosting account in order to put your domain name on it. This hosting server gives you the place top park your domain and keeps it running on the internet. They vary in price, depending where you get it from, but they have come down in price.

You don’t want to get a cheap one either, as they don’t always have the best service or tech support when you need it. The price for a good hosting account can run you about $150 dollars a year.

5. Video Producer

Video marketing is growing every day. If you aren’t doing some type of video campaign, you are going to get left in the back of the room. 52% of people will be more likely to opt in to a site that has a video, then one that doesn’t.

People love to connect with a friendly face, that they can see and hear. It’s almost like being there right in front of them, and I guess you really are, but in video form.

You can do free videos on YouTube and other sites, but beware, as these sites have been known to shut down accounts for no reason at all. If that happens, you lose all your videos and complete access to your account.

The best way to go is to a video hosting site, where all your videos are safe, and you don’t have to worry about getting shut down. There may be some restrictions as to home many videos you can have, and they can get pricey.  The cost for this is around a $100 dollars a month.

Excluding the cost of a computer, your marketing costs will be about $1400 dollars a year, or just under $120 dollars a month.

Remember, every business or profession needs tools. Weather you’re in real estate, electrician, or a doctor, you need tools and you need training to be the best that you can be, and to earn the type of income that you want to earn. There are no free lunches.

Ever been on a diet? Does a bear live in the woods? Right…who hasn’t? A better question is how many diets have you started and stopped?

Our society today is in love with the way we look in a mirror, and to tell you the truth…not many of us have taken a long hard look in the mirror because if we did we would not be happy with what we see. I know that I am not happy with what I see.

Dieting, like marketing, has a common thread running through the middle of it. In a network marketing business, if you don’t get people off and running and putting money in their pockets they are going to jump out. Dieting is much the same way. If you are not seeing results, on the system of losing weight that you are on, you are going to quit.

Our society has an attention span of about 5 seconds. We are impatient and we want results fast, so getting people in the flow quickly is important to the success of your system.

I have never had a very big problem with my weight. It was never a big issue when I was younger and active, but as I have gotten older and less active, it now has become a problem.

The biggest problem is seeing that you may need to start paying attention to your weight, and then taking that first step to getting started on a system of weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.

I do emphasize the phrase, a healthy lifestyle, because most of us will get on a diet and even if we get the results that we want, we than jump off the diet and put the pounds right back on, and most of the time we put more on than we had taken off.

When I was younger and I had an active lifestyle I was training all the time and a healthy lifestyle was exactly that, a lifestyle, and not just a diet. I was always watching what I put in my mouth and exercise was a part of my everyday regiment.

A Personal Hello is Far Superior Than a Generic Hi

Have you ever been in a situation where you bump into someone that you haven’t seen in a long time and you can’t remember their name? Especially someone that you may have worked with very closely for a long time. Embarrassing isn’t it?

What was your name again?

Or what about when you bump into someone, that you haven’t seen in awhile, and they not only remember your name but maybe remember a situation or circumstance that you or a family member was going through? That is impressive, and doesn’t it make you feel kind of important? Doesn’t it make you feel good about yourself and that person who still remembers you?

I am terrible at names and so this sort of thing is something that I battle with quite frequently. It doesn’t take a long separation or a real different setting for me to forget someone’s name. I have to work very hard at getting this all down right.

This sort of amnesia is not something that you want to get into the habit of doing in your business.

Well you don’t have to anymore, because I have found a tool that is just one part of a whole arsenal of tools, that can help you with things such as this.

Women vs Men in Network Marketing – Who Comes Out on Top?

There have probably been more articles and talk about this subject than we will ever be able to read, but I would like to throw my two cents in, and I think what I have to say may surprise some of you, especially my wife.

When we think of the work force, we usually always think of the male figure. The men have dominated over the women in this area for decades. The man was always looked at as the provider and protector of his home and his family. Women were the care takers and the ones who made the house a home to live in.

When I grew up, my mom was always the one who greeted us as we came home from school. Later my dad would make his way from his office and that’s how it was.

Well the financial landscape has changed dramatically since that time. Women have made great strides in the market place. Their are women who are CEO’s and hold high positions in some of the top companies in the world. It has been a huge struggle and the battle is not over. The corporate, 9 to 5 job world, is a struggle for anybody, especially for women, in today’s economy.

Their pay scale is usually not on the same level as their male counterparts. They usually have a family, waiting at home, that still has to be taken care of. They are more likely to be overlooked for that new promotion, simply because of their gender.

What about the network marketing arena? What about between business owners and network marketers? Is the playing field the same for both parties?

Well for one, you are a business owner when you are in a network marketing business. It’s your business and you are the boss. It grows as you put forth your effort, time, and resources. Nobody is trying to get your job and there are no promotions that you are seeking, except to help others in your organization grow their businesses as well.

As with other businesses, you are still responsible for the needs and cares of your family and home, but because you are the boss, you make your business around your schedule. You can go to the bathroom, take a vacation, or take the afternoon off and go and see your son or daughter play that soccer game. Being the boss is an incredible benefit of having your own business.

Time is no longer master over you as in the 9 to 5  job, where you exchange your time for a paycheck. When you own your own business, that all changes.

The other advantage of being a business owner, in the network marketing industry, is leveraging the efforts of others in your organization, to produce a residual stream of income. That is, income that comes in every single month, on the work and efforts of you and your organization.

You see, in the 9 to 5  job world, it’s dog eat dog. You have to be on your guard every single moment, or you could get eaten and hurt by someone else trying to move up the ladder. If you lose your job, you and your entire family pay the price.

In being a business owner you are creating multiple streams of income, and if one stream gets cut off, or runs dry, you have others that will keep you going. It’s not going to change your life style as if you lost your 9 to 5 job. Just take a look around you at this struggling economy that we are in today. Many people have lost their one and only stream of income and they are hurting real bad right now.

Is there any advantage to being a man or a women in this type of atmosphere? Women vs Men in Network Marketing – Who Comes Out on Top?

Neither. It is a level playing field for all! It’s the only place where true cooperation and working for the team, benefits all. I want to encourage my organization and help them achieve their goals, because everyone wins when that happens. You will never find this in the corporate world or any 9 to 5 job.

Only by becoming a business owner can you become financially free and gain time freedom. Working for someone else, from 9 to 5, and putting all your eggs in one basket, will never make you free. Weather your a women or a man, network marketing is the only avenue that affords you this opportunity.

It’s all up to you. Work for the man and be strapped and under his control, or, work for yourself and gain financial freedom and the time to do what you want to do, and when you want to do it.

This is where you need to be!


Two Keys To Your Success – Organization and Discipline

I am pretty much an organized individual, and I consider myself  a disciplined person as well, when I put my mind to it. I attribute that to playing sports when I was younger. You had to train and focus on the task at hand. You cannot deviate in any way shape or form from what you wanted to accomplish.

These are lessons that I was taught a long time ago and I have carried them on into my business career. It’s very important to your success on and off the field.

I have always drilled into my children…the keys to your success are organization and discipline. If you don’t have them, you will struggle, no matter what you do.

I must admit, they were not easy to learn, but if you want to be better than the opposition, you have to start with the little things, and you have to work hard to refine these skills in you.

This comes easier to some and harder to others. I do have a tendency to drift off the main road on occasion, and I really had to work to get these qualities down.

When I came into the network marketing industry, I had no idea what I was doing or what direction to take. I was anxious to get started, but lacked the skills to succeed. I just needed someone to point me in the right direction and I was off.

I met up with some of the best network marketers on the planet, who had the success and the experience to show me the steps I had to take to be successful in this industry. My Lead System Pro was the system that they were using and everything that I’ve learned about internet marketing came from them and MLSP.

What do you do first? What is the very first step that you take?

1. Organization

Make a plan, because if you don’t, you will end up like me at the beginning of my network marketing experience. I was all over the map. Doing articles, making videos, and tweeting away a ton of time studying and researching everything under the sun. I had my hand on everything, but not building my business.

Don’t get distracted. You don’t need every new software program that comes out promising all these great leads. That’s what my network marketing friends from MLSP taught me, because I can get distracted.

Internet marketing, or any kind of marketing for that matter, can never take the place of talking to people and building relationships. This is what pays the bills and puts food on the table.

Now you will have to learn marketing skills and how to implement them, but don’t try to take them all in at one time. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Take one and learn it, then use it, and finally share it with others. This will brand you with others and generate leads for your business. Then you will still have to get on the phone or meet people, and prospect. This is the heart of your business. You cannot push this off to the side, like I did for a long time.

2. Discipline

Now, that you have organized and have a plan, comes the hard part. Putting that plan into action.

They say if you do something for thirty days, it becomes a habit, and you will continue to do it without thinking. Just like breathing, but you have to do what Nike says…”just do it”. Quit thinking and contemplating, and making sure all your pencils are sharp…just do it!

It’s so easy to get side tracked, even for the best of us, but once you have organized a plan, all that’s left is putting it into action.

For me, once I get into the flow, ounce I get rolling….look out! Don’t get in my way! I hate interruptions, I hate getting pushed off the road, just point me in the right direction and I’m gone.

If you will learn how to organize yourself and your time, and discipline yourself to the task at hand, you will be successful.

Marketing to 500 Million People on Facebook

Is Facebook ready to be number one? Facebook has reached 500 million members. Every eight seconds a new account is formed on Face Book.

Facebook has become a haven for network marketers. A sea of prospects. 500 million to be exact. Now how and what is the best way to market on Face Book?

The newest one is Facebook pay per click. This is rivaling  Google’s PPC marketing, and Google is getting a little worried.

There are a number of ways to market on Facebook and really you should be using a couple of different ones. I am going to show you just one. This is the one that I have been using and a lot of people have been using for awhile.

First you must have a Facebook account. That is very easy to do, but DO NOT mention anything about your business on your Facebook profile.  You want to connect with people. All people. If they see you and your business, they will assume you are just like thousands of other marketers on Face Book who just want to pitch their business at them.

Once you start making connections and friends, people will naturally want to know more about you. This is where your profile is important.  They are going to visit your profile and find out more about who you are. Just make conversation and only talk about your business to them when they ask, and they will eventually ask. Just be patient.

I usually have several generic scripts written  that I keep in my “office one note pad.” One for asking to be a friend and the other for thanking someone for their offer of friendship.

For example; “Hi Jim.  Really liked your page. Please add me to your friends list. I’m also online often so feel free to send me an IM.  Look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day. Brian” It’s friendly and to the point, and I usually always get a response. Always respond to every request you get. That personal note is very impressive. Don’t just click the confirm button.

Once that is done, start to connect with other people. If you are a network marketer, sign up with some of the groups that are associated with a company and or network marketing groups. Also think of the groups that have been hit hard right now with our struggling economy. Real Estate, mortgage, and financial investment companies. These people are hurting for some extra cash each and you have the tool that they could use. Get into their groups.

Once you are in, start posting some articles that are full of value pertinent to the needs of the group that you are in. Do videos and start connecting with people. It won’t take long for people to start looking at you as someone who knows what they are doing. People are not looking for products, they are looking for leaders to follow.

Every day you should be adding twenty to thirty people as friends. Be careful and do not add links to your website or blog in your response. If you do, Facebook will send out a warning after you send about ten or so, that you are doing things that could get your account closed. If you just send out a friendly note, like the one I suggested, you will have no limit.
