Advice and Strategies That Will Take You Out of This World

Ever Feel Like Putting Up a “DO NOT DISTURB” Sign on Your Life?

The distractions are a part of life, but distractions in the your business can be devastating. They can come from very important people in your life, but one thing is certain, you cannot let them go unaddressed. They have got to be dealt with and should be dealt with right from the start of you entering into owing your own business.

Ever feel like putting up a “DO NOT DISTURB” sign on your life? I have and maybe you have as well.

I know this is going to be a rehash of something that I posted awhile back, but I think it ‘s that important. I know that it has been something that I have been continually fighting since I entered the network marketing industry with my own business. Every time I think I have it settled,  it shows its ugly head again.

Why does everyone constantly tread on your valuable time? Is it because they don’t take you seriously and they don’t hold the same respect or value to your time as you do?

That’s the heart of it. Now I know that there may be some variations to that truth, but that is basically the bottom line. People are not going to take you seriously until you take you seriously.

An example is company events. I never thought that they were as important as they are, so therefore my wife and my family would place other events into my schedule, sometimes without my knowledge, and they just assumed that I would drop everything and rearrange my time to accommodate them, and that’s exactly what I did.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my family and my family means a great deal to me, and most of the time I would deem the things they wanted me to attend as important, and I would put myself out for them, but I realized that there has to be a definite dividing line between my business and other things, and it’s up to me to keep and hold that line steady.

You should have a business plan and some type of guidelines set up for yourself to follow, and they should be for both short and long-term goals.

I do daily and monthly plans and I have set for myself yearly plans as well. You have to have this set in place and then comes the hard part. Learn to follow them. This learning process can be hard to do, but it’s a process you have to complete.

Leave room for adjustments, as they will come. I don’t mean that you should be so hard and staunch in your attitude, that you are just a drill Sargent and no one can approach you. Be flexible, as this should also be a part of your business plan too.

This past week is a great example of this.

In one week, my grand-daughter asked if I would go with her into court and support her in facing one of the worst nightmares anyone can face.

She is ten years old and has been approached in a sexual manner by someone who she knows. She finally confided in my wife and it has resulted in a court case. I love my grand-daughter and I would drop anything that I was doing to be with her, and her family, during this very difficult time.

In the same week, my daughter-in-law’s father took his own life and the funeral was in the same week. We spent a couple of days with her and her family during another extremely difficult time.

These are situations that you would move events around, and create time in your schedule for. Anyone of you would do the same thing, and these are the things I’m talking about, but the crazy friend of the family who is always calling you, or the daughter who is calling you because she is upset over breaking another nail, those are things that you just don’t have time for at all.

Remember to follow these simple steps.

  1. You have to take your business seriously and you have to set yourself up for success, because no one else will.
  2. Make a business plan and learn to follow it, and I do mean this is a learning process.
  3. Make room for adjustments and only fill them with the important things in life.
  4. Learn to say, “NO”, to the time and energy draining items and people that drain you of your time and energy.
  5. Make sure you get the right amount of sleep and challenge yourself to get healthy.
  6. Remember, It’s OK to put up the “DO NOT DISTURB” sign on your life.

This is what true leaders and successful businesses must do to survive and prosper. Your business will thank you and your family will thank you.

Leadership Development

One of my favorite movies is “Band of Brothers”. It’s the true story of the 101st Airborne Division, Easy Company, who fought back in World War II. I don’t know why they called them Easy Company, because there was nothing that these guys did that was easy. They were lead by Major Richard Winters, who came up through the ranks to lead this group of men through some of the most hard fought battles in WWII.

Major Winters was just not handed this role of leader. He earned it, and the respect of everyone of his men. He brought the value of a true leader out into the open for all his men to see. He never asked his men to go through something that he was not willing to go first. One of his soldiers said, ” We would have followed him anywhere.” Can people say that about you or me?

As you are following this series, we talked about becoming a student of your craft, in attraction marketing Rule #3. As you grow and your marketing and prospecting abilities are being refined, you are becoming a leader. You know more then 90% of all the other network marketers that are out there. You are starting to stand out from the rest of the other peddlers in the ocean of network marketing. You are leading with value like Gold. You have information that others want to know and learn so they can become successful in their network marketing businesses.

Have you ever heard the statement, “You are what you think”. You are a product of your thoughts. Focus on what you are becoming, not what you were. Remember, Michael Jordan didn’t become one of the best scorers to ever play the game by sitting and dreaming about it all day. He worked very hard at being the best basketball player he could be. Michael Jordan pulled away from the rest of the players by becoming a student of the game, working hard at learning and refining his skills. Even though he is not playing anymore, he is still one of the most respected and sought after people in the world.

This is exactly how you should approach your business. You must focus your thought energies on what you want to become. The greatest book ever written, The Bible, says ” As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” You are a product of your thought process.

Study your craft and lead with value. People will follow a leader that will lead them to victory and the bank, not someone who is going to lead them down the wrong path and to the death of their businesses.

Another saying that you may recall. (Sorry, they are popping in my head like crazy right now) Talk is cheap. Seeing is believing. Perception is reality. How people see you is what you really are. There is a lot of empty words on the Internet today. Don’t let your words be empty too. Let them be full of value to help others. When you do, you will earn the respect of others and be marked out as a true leader. Your following will grow and so will your business.

Don’t Chase People Away, Attract Them Too You.

When you walk into a Sears store, and you want to look at the stoves, what happens? One, maybe two sales people walk your way, and ask if they can help you. If you are anything like me, the minute I walk into the store, I have my eyes out looking for the sales people, and when I see them coming I am turning the corner and going down the next aisle. They follow you anyway. You can run, but you can’t hide from them.

Don’t chase people away, attract them to you.

Sales people are not very well liked. Especially the ones that follow you and push you around the store.
But what if the sales person comes up to you and just says “Hi, is there any where I can direct you too?” You tell him you are looking for stoves, and he takes you to them, and tells you, ” if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I will be right over there if you need me.” Then he leaves you alone to freely look at what ever you want to look at. You could even leave the store, and he will say, ” good night folks, here is my card, you have a great evening.” No pressure, no push.
If you ever go back to that store, who are you going to look up? I know who I would be looking for.
I know that flies against everything we have ever been taught or trained to do, and some people might need a little guidance when shopping, but if you treat someone with respect and giving them the answers to their questions, you will close eighty percent of your sales. It’s called attraction marketing.

People are always more likely to talk to someone who has the answers and gives them the information that they want and need to make a right decision for them. They walk away happy, you have a sale, and most important, you have now a trusted shopper, who will not only look for you the next time they go into that store, but will spread the good news to all their family and friends, about how well you treated them and the great deal they got from you. This one sale could possibly generate ten more. Let them tell family and friends and you won’t have too.

Most MLM businesses are founded on the premise to use your warm market first. Call all your family and friends and get them to come to this meeting. The person stands up and talks and pressures them, till all they are looking at is their watch and how fast can I get to the back door.

Learning MLM secrets that will lead you to a successful Multi Level Business is not only profitable, but it is fun, because you are building relationships, which will build you a residual income for a long time to come. Don’t make the same mistakes so many MLM businesses make. That is why 97% don’t survive. Get out of the box, and be one of the 3%.

If you have any questions as to how this works, fill out the information below and I will be happy to help you out. Don’t chase people away, attract them too you.
